8 WEEKS PROGRAM

Film Editors are highly skilled technicians who are key members of the production. They are responsible for the quality and distinctive technical elements of the soundtrack for a film. During production of the film, each scene is shot many times and from many different angles.

COURSE CONTENT

Students will learn how to view each scene and select, combine, and sequentially reassemble the best performance, photography, timing, and consistency.
This course will highlight the elements an editor must think about BEFORE they can begin their.
• Study the script
• Learn the story line
• Collaborate with directors and producers
• Understand the scenes that the director determines to be the most critical
• Learn the producer’s film goals

COURSE OUTCOME

At the end of this workshop, students will have a clear understanding of expectations of an Editor, and how to use these techniques to successfully meet the vision of the film’s creators.
